Emerging Skills Project

Delivering a skilled workforce for future UK manufacturing

Developing future emerging skills

The Emerging Skills Project (ESP) is a pilot programme forming part of the UK Government’s transformation of further and technical education in England.

Cutting-edge training for all businesses

The Department for Education (DfE) with the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult is providing training focused on new skillsets needed for smart manufacturing throughout our supply chains.

Levelling up your employees

Benefit from free access to technical training units. There will be no charge to the employer or employee in our pilot phase.

Transforming the future of UK manufacturing

As the UK recovers from the effects of the pandemic, the national economy needs a proactive and well-connected skills system that can adapt to the changing needs of an ever more agile and responsive workforce. This will create opportunities for talent at all ages and develop resilience in UK manufacturing supply chains.

Find out how you can deliver training units with Train the Trainer

Training Units are designed to be delivered through the network of Institutes of Technology (IoTs), Colleges and Training Providers across the country and there’s a Train the Trainer course for each training unit.

Therefore, if you work in one of these establishments in a training role you should be eligible and, through the project funding, we’ll also pay your employer for each day you attend!
