Batteries – BT4 - Introduction to designing Sustainable Batteries
BT4 Course Summary
As designers, engineers or businesspeople we have a responsibility to work in a sustainable manner. This unit looks at the application of sustainability principles to the world of battery pack manufacturing.
The course covers the following areas:-
- Identification of a battery module and pack.
- The manufacturing process of a battery (Cylindrical or pouch style).
- Sustainability – four perspectives about sustainable practice.
- Socially sustainable.
- Environmentally sustainable.
- Economically sustainable.
- Sustainability from a human’s perspective.
This unit is a level 4 unit and can be delivered as a whole, usually over two days, or in sections as required. This unit is aimed at people who are familiar with the basics of battery design and are wanting to improve their knowledge and understanding about sustainability and the world of battery design.
