ELEC419 Course Summary

The learning outcomes for this unit include:

• Managing the build, development, testing and fault finding of a prototype electric vehicles is a task of the highest order. You have all the responsibilities of a vehicle body structure, drivetrain, steering and braking systems coupled with a motor and inverter linked to a High voltage battery and system. Resource allocation involves both automotive and the electrical sector – combined, also inclusive of new ‘start up business’ i.e. EV component providers.

• The attendee on this unit will learn about engineering project time scale and budget management

• By the end of the unit they will have the know how to manage a build and team, and to complete a prototype assembly.
