ELEC508 - Safety, Legislation & Standards – Automotive High Voltage Batteries

The learning outcomes for this unit include:

• With manufactures in full-flow of development / roll-out of ‘electrification’ and EVs, the industry is seeing a lot of variation around the way in which vehicle systems are being installed and utilised. Adopting ‘common’ safety and standards in line with the guidance from the HSE / BSI / ISO (Worldwide) framework, is key to standardising within the industry.

• Attendee’s on this course will gain knowledge and understanding around specific safety issues relating to batteries, particularly management of high voltage and current.

• By the end of the unit learners will be able to interpret design safety standards, regulation and working practices related to ‘electrified’ vehicles.
